Why you need your own branded website

How To's

If you’re in the workforce and if you’re very much into all things digital, I believe you really owe it to yourself to have your own personally branded site. It doesn’t have to be fancy and it doesn’t have to have all the ‘bells and whistles’ that some other sites have. It should however, have your best work out on display.

There are 3 main reasons for this:

  1. It showcases your personal work to future clients
  2. It puts you in control over online content against your name
  3. It’s gives you a sense of personal achievement.

I could have gone 2 ways about my website; I could have revamped this site, or I could launch a new site with more static content of works I’m quite proud of. I chose the latter with WordPress.org and selected a simple, awesome minimal theme.

This theme might not scale once I add more works to my portfolio – but hey, it does the job for now with no fuss.

About this post

PC halved

I was inspired looking at Brent Jackson’s, Terry Mun’s and Andrew Tarcon’s sites and I said to myself “I really need to create a personal pages that I can update from time to time to present my current work to date.”

I want to keep ThoughtsbyPC going, but it does have really old content that might not be relevant to who I am today. Nevertheless I’ll keep on powering on!
