Joe Strummer lead me here

Many moons ago when I was a teen, a good friend introduced me to The Clash: “Career Opportunities” which was pumping out rebellion on our local radio station. To this day, it still remains as one of the purest songs of anger, rebellion and  confusion we all go through in early adulthood.

This song haunted me in my teens:

Don’t they just remind you of Green Day? GD, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins and all the others that followed would have been influenced by The Clash in some way.

That was so random and what spurred that on was a BBC program on The Clash and Joe Strummer.

RIP Joe and thank you for the music.
